
Welcome to United College
United College offers residence, academic courses, and learning opportunities to students at the University of Waterloo. We are affiliated with the University and are located on its main campus.
University of Waterloo courses are taught at United, including courses in International Development, the Master of Development Practice program, Indigenous studies, Indigenous Entrepreneurship, Human rights, Religious studies and Canadian studies.
At United you can also find the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre, and GreenHouse, a social impact incubator that offers programs, opportunities and a community for students to develop problem-solving skills, form innovative ideas and make new forms of sustainable impact around social or environmental change.
Many Waterloo students – both undergraduate and graduate – choose to live at United. Some come here for the community, some for the learning experience, and some to be part of special communities like the Environment Living Learning Community (LLC), the Women in Engineering LLC, and La Bastille the French-speaking residence community.

United College’s March Open House 2025: Excitement & Exploration
United College at the University of Waterloo recently hosted its highly anticipated March Open House 2025, and once again it was an incredible success.
With over 90 tours throughout the day, the excitement was undeniable as future students, including many Grade 11s, explored all that United College has to offer.

The early-stage ventures of Indigenous entrepreneurs are set to receive a boost through a $50,000 donation from Scotiabank to United College at the University of Waterloo. This contribution will help Indigenous entrepreneurs transform their ideas into sustainable realities.
Green Innovation Gathering Inspires Youth-Led Sustainability Solutions in Brandon
The Green Innovation Gathering (GIG) in Brandon, Manitoba, recently brought together students, educators, and community leaders to tackle environmental challenges through hands-on innovation. Hosted at Assiniboine Community College, the event empowered young minds to develop solutions for real-world sustainability issues in their community.

Join us for the annual alumni craft beer and bites event, hosted by the four University Colleges at the University of Waterloo.
We will meet at United College for a guided walking tour, where we will take you to each of the University Colleges to enjoy craft beer samples paired with delicious bites. Come hungry—the “bites” are generous.
